Beginning in 2012 . . .
Population projected to be primarily younger veteran women or younger veteran women with children. Comitis Crisis Center will offer clinical support, women's groups, etc., and capacity includes handling medications and working with clients to regulate and monitor medication use. Veterans and therapists will work through strengths-based case management, and motivational interviewing skills & techniques; veteran would be the primary partner in setting personal goals, and supported by case management and clinical staff. Comitis Crisis Center will have parenting groups, family counseling support, direct services and clinical support for all veterans and their families. |
Goals Residential, stability, parenting, meal-planning, stable income, financial literacy & household management, mental health and substance abuse management, problem-solving, re-connection with community, children's well-being (including immunizations), access to healthcare, as well as access to permanent housing/support. Increased Skill Level and/or Income goals set around training, GED or college (if part of individual plan), employment future, and obtaining stable employment. Self-Determination goals set around community participation, family empowerment & advocacy, choosing career/education path, etc. |
